i need an allowance

here is a conversation that bluedotprincess(bdp) and i had this afternoon...

bdp: mom i need an allowance
me: ok, if you clean your room you can have an allowance
bdp: i was thinking i could just get an allowance
me: well life doesn't work like that around here...if you clean your room and do some other chores then you can have an allowance
bdp: i suppose i won't be getting an allowance then!
